Background

Woodlanders.org.uk was launched in 2001 by volunteers living on the Woodlands Estate. The webmaster and other contributors give their time for no reward other than the enjoyment of producing a vehicle for the delivery of content created by the community for the community.

Who pays?

This website is hosted by Easyspace at the expense of the Woodlands Community Association. All other technical costs are paid for out of the pockets of volunteers.

Woodlanders.org.uk reserves the right to take adverts - those wishing to advertise should contact the webmaster.

Content

The content is submitted in three ways: Articles and books offered for publication by local people interested in building a resource of local information (see history index), contributions to the interactive forum and news stories either submitted by local residents or written to highlight issues being discussed in the forum.

All the books, features and other information reproduced on this site have been added after obtaining full agreement from the authors on the understanding that the material is not published elsewhere without their consent.


Downloading

You are free to download the content for your own personal non-commercial use but you are not permitted to copy, adapt or change this content in any way for any other website or any other form of publication without obtaining permission.


WCA Forum Posts

All those who register for the WCA forum (a Yahoo! Discussion Group) agree to certain conditions. The views expressed in the forum are the views of the contributors to the forum and are not necessarily the views of Woodlanders.org.uk or of the Community Association itself.

News items, produced from the content created by the community in the forum are designed to reflect the strength of community feeling about local issues.

By joining and using the forum, you agree that you will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise in violation of ANY law.

The Forum is not the place for the airing of personal vendettas with neighbours, the naming of neighbours with whom you may have an ongoing disagreement or the identification of those neighbours by inference. Legal actions can be taken against you by anyone named or referred to in this way.

You also agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or you have consent from the owner of the copyrighted material. Spam, flooding, advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, and solicitations are also inappropriate to this forum.

Note that it is impossible for the managers of this forum to confirm the validity of posts on the Forum. Please remember that the views expressed are not necessarily those of the Woodlands Community Association and that the managers of the Forum cannot warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any information presented.

Anyone who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to message the Moderator through the forum's internal message system as soon as possible. Moderators have the right to remove objectionable content, within a reasonable time frame, if it is thought that removal is necessary. This is a manual process however, so please realize that we may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately. This policy goes for member profile information as well.

You remain solely responsible for the content of your messages, and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless this forum, and any related websites to this forum. The Moderators also reserve the right to reveal your identity (or any information we have about you) in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any information posted by you.

You have the ability, as you register, to choose your username. We advise that you keep the name appropriate. With this user account you are about to register, you agree to never give your password out to another member, for your protection and for validity reasons. You also agree to NEVER use another member's account to post messages or browse this forum.

After you register and log into the WCA Forum, you can fill out a detailed profile. It is your responsibility to present clean and accurate information. Any information we deem inaccurate or vulgar will be removed.

Please note that with each post, your IP address is recorded, in the event that you need to be banned from the Forum or your ISP contacted. This will only happen in the event of a major violation of this agreement.
